Cactus

Here’s a cactus assortment to brighten up a dull spot on your desk, shelves, or anywhere in your space. Cacti are succulents, but their fleshy stems are what set them apart from the broad plant group. Unlike the others, these plants store water and moisture in their photosynthetic and cylindrical or flattened stems.

They come in different shapes, sizes, and colors, so you have plenty of choices! Give them the right care, and these prickly plants will show you beautiful flowers.

Plant Type

Cactus and succulents are known for their thickened, fleshy parts that function for water storage. These hardy and low maintenance plants need little to no attention.

Plant Feature

Low Maintenance
These are plants that you do not have to water too often and are excellent in various lighting conditions. This makes them perfect for any room in your house.

Magical (Protection)
These plants are believed to protect the home and self from evil and all sorts of negativity. Keep them around the house for added protection while keeping the space nice-looking.

Beginner
Beginner plants are exceptionally forgiving and hardy. They are easy to keep alive and mostly low maintenance. These are perfect if you have a less-than-green thumb, or just starting to hone your gardening skills.

Light Care

High Light
High light plants require full sunlight to grow to their full potential, which means they need at least 6 hours of direct, bright light each day. The brightest spot in your home is the best place to put them.

Water Care

Low Water
Low water plants only need watering once a week or once every two weeks. Allow the soil to dry completely before the next watering.

Fertilizer Care

Low Fertilizer
These plants would appreciate a regular application of fertilizers during the growing season. They aren’t heavy feeders, and feeding at low rates is enough for these low-fertilizer plants to grow well.

Plant Care Tips

Found in dry regions, cactus are typically very slow growing from seed. Some of our plants in 3.25” pots can be up to 5 years old. Checking water levels in these plants can be difficult but this is one plant you should always let go on the drier side. When repotting use our arid cactus and succulent soil mix.

Origin

All cactus are native to the Americas, occurring as far south as Patagonia, and as far north as southern Canada. One species, Rhipsalis baccifera aka mistletoe cactus, are native to parts of Africa and Sri Lanka.
